The Indie Author Hive runs monthly Stuff Your Kindle (SYKD) and Free Book Blast events featuring free and discounted Kindle books across multiple genres. Below are answers to common questions from both indie authors and readers about self-published book promotion, online book blast events, and discovering independent authors. You’ll also find our full participation guidelines, eligibility requirements, and frequently asked questions.
Submission of a book constitutes agreement to these guidelines.
Who Can Participate?
Open to indie authors
Books must be published or available for pre-order at the time of submission.
Authors must hold full publishing rights to the submitted work.
Books must be available on Amazon.
Titles do not need to be Kindle Unlimited exclusive
Pricing Requirements
Non-members may enter one book per pen name per event.
Non-member entries must be set to Free or 99p/99¢ for the full duration of the event.
Certain membership tiers allow:

Multiple or unlimited book submissions

To maintain a consistent and professional event experience, the following are not permitted:
AI-Generated Content
Fully AI-written books
Fully AI-generated covers
Authors actively using AI-generated content in promotional materials for submitted titles
The Indie Author Hive supports human-created work.
Hate, Abuse or Illegal Content
Content promoting violence or discrimination toward protected groups
Illegal content
Exploitative or abusive material
Extreme cruelty or incitement
We reserve the right to decline submissions that do not align with our event standards.
Religion-Centred Works
This is a secular event platform.
We do not accept religion-centred works of any faith.
Authors of faith are welcome to participate with non-religion-centred books.
Quality Standards
All submissions are reviewed prior to approval.
Books must:
Have a professional cover
Be properly formatted
Have working Amazon links
Meet basic presentation standards
We reserve the right to decline submissions that do not meet event quality requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I adjust my entry once the event is live?
No. Once the event has begun, changes cannot be made. Entries that no longer meet requirements may be removed.
We send reminders during the 1–2 weeks prior to each event to allow time to check links and pricing.
I can’t commit to all event days. Can I still enter?
Partial participation is available for certain membership tiers. Non-member entries must run for the full duration of the event.
How do I enter?

Do you make exceptions?
No. All guidelines apply equally to all submissions.
